This is a SLOW blog!

Since my last post i have been working on Structural knitting.
This involves knitting the yarn on a knitting machine, which is extremely tiresome, and then knitting the very chunky yarn up on big needles to form a rug. The chunky knitting is very satisfying.

Anyway, before progressing into the 20th century, I have been knitting up a complete set of columns.

The corinthian is not quite finished but the doric and ionic have worked well. Again I used Banister Fletcher's drawings of the Greek orders as my pattern.

  1. Hi! I love your projects! I was just wondering, how do you get your yarn knit on the knitting machine to be so coiled like an i-cord? I have a knitting machine too, and this is a marvelous idea!

    Thanks,
